Don’t Ask Friends, They Won’t Tell You
Want to get rid of bad breath? Don’t ask your partner if you have bad breath, they won’t tell you. A recent survey was done for the British Dental Health Foundation. There were two results that should have you wondering. One is that a majority of people surveyed wouldn’t risk their friendship with a person by telling him he has bad breath. The second is that you can’t even count on your partner, and the results of this one were the same for men and women. Only one in five would tell his or her partner that he had bad breath. Not a problem in our house – Mike is very up front about telling me when I need to do something about my breath.
So, to find out if you need to stop bad breath, you will need to rely on yourself. Blowing into your cupped hands and sniffing won’t tell you anything. For a jiffy quick check, you can lick the back of your hand, let it dry, then smell it. For a method that takes a little bit more equipment, you can gently scrape some of the coating from your tongue with a spoon, let it dry a bit, then sniff. If it smells bad, then you’d better follow a good oral hygiene routine and use some top notch products like the ones that Therabreath makes.
