Bad Breath – - - The Valentines Day Gift You Don’t Want to Get – or Give
Here is some really yucky news from the National Website of Wales about what you have in your mouth besides tongue and teeth. If this doesn’t keep you on track with your brushing and flossing, nothing will.
"Humble Kiss Equals Millions of Bacteria
Valentine’s Day is a day for love and kissing. But the humble kiss could expose you to millions of harmful bacteria, as Alison Lowe explains…
TO MANY people a kiss is the ultimate expression of romance, but unfortunately, it can also result in a nasty exchange of a cocktail of saliva, bacteria and bits of food left over from lunch.
Harbouring around one billion bacteria, the human mouth can lay claim to the rather dubious honour of providing a home for more bacteria than any other part of the body.
Even the healthiest mouth contains at least 350 different species of micro organisms, so kissing is a great way to pass your bacteria on to someone else.
Many studies have been carried out into the bacterial content of saliva and it is estimated that in the average clinch you will exchange about 278 different types of bugs with the object of your desires."
Thanks to Western Mail for providing that horrifying information! This calls for some really heavy duty commitment on your part to keep those little bacteria at bay. Following a regular routine of oral hygiene is your best bad breath remedy.
