Natural Bad Breath Cures to
Try
You might want to try some natural bad breath cures.
It can be a lot less expensive than spending money on a variety
of the over the counter pharmaceutical products for curing bad
breath. Home remedies can be simple but very effective in
the ongoing chore of eliminating bad breath.
Oral Hygiene
The very simplest of halitosis cures is a simple but regular
routine of oral hygiene. It isn't fancy and it isn't
exciting, but it is the foundation of any effort to stop bad
breath. Brush your teeth and floss daily. Brushing when
you get up helps to get rid of nasty morning breath. If
you can, brush after meals and before going to bed.
Flossing should be a top priority. Food particles can
lodge between teeth. Plaque can form and odor causing
bacteria can have a field day. Because of this, bad
breath odor can come from between your teeth and from the gum
line, so flossing after you brush is essential to fresh breath
and it also maintains gum health. Also clean
your tongue. This is best done with a tongue scraper
rather than a toothbrush. A tongue scraper, if gently
used, will help remove the coating that forms on your
tongue. Brushing can grind and scrub the coating farther
into the papillae and grooves of your tongue. Be
sure also to rinse your mouth thoroughly. Dryness is one
cause of bad breath, so rinsing your mouth and drinking
adequate water is a really easy natural remedy for your
routine.
Simple Natural Home Remedies for Bad
Breath
Dipping your toothbrush in baking soda and brushing your
teeth with it works well to clean your teeth, whiten them, and
to stop bad breath. If you aren't crazy about the taste
of baking soda, put toothpaste on your toothbrush first, then
dip it into baking soda before brushing. Or follow up
your baking soda toothbrushing with a regular toothpaste
brushing for fresh breath. If you wish, you can gargle with a
cup of lukewarm water mixed with baking soda, or salt, or the
juice of half of a lemon. You may prefer mouthwash, but
avoid the ones that have dyes and alcohol, which is dehydrating
to your mouth. For quick bad breath control, chewing mint
leaves will give you a feeling of fresh breath. If you
prefer something more spicy, chew a whole clove. It works
well to cover bad breath and may promote saliva production,
which helps keep bad breath in check.
Herbal Remedy for Bad
Breath
There are many herbal remedies are considered good for
curing bad breath. Myrrh is one of the more popular
remedies. It is said to kill oral bacteria because of its
antiseptic nature. To make your own mouthwash, stir five
to ten drops of myrrh tincture into a glass of water. If you
want to improve the flavor and aroma of this mouthwash, use
herbal tea instead of water. A mint tea or rosemary tea
are particularly breath-freshening. Tea tree oil from the
Australian tree, Melaleuca alternifolia, is another great
ingredient for dental products. It has strong medical
properties. It can be used as your toothpaste or mouthwash.
Either use it alone or add it on your toothpaste or in your
mouthwash. It will help stop bad breath as well as help
keep your gums healthy. Another great way to use
Melaleuca oil is to dip your dental floss in it before
flossing. Do be aware that the taste is exceptionally
strong and may take getting used to. And be sure to keep
it away from your eyes. Keep an eye on what foods you eat and
practice regular dental and oral care. All of the bad
breath remedies you need you can do yourself and are easy to
do.
